A wedding is a celebration of your unique love story.
I believe that the invitation is the introduction to the celebrations, the first glimpse that guests will have of your event.
I work together with you to create completely bespoke wedding stationery, reflecting your own style and personality. I take time to get to know your story, wedding plans, theme and colours. With a palette of fresh, joyful watercolours I paint these special details, and bring them together with elegant design and fine quality printing.
Each project is approached with love and care, and a passion for creativity. One of my favourite things is working together with couples at this special time in their lives. My aim is to create a beautiful keepsake of an unforgettable day, that will be treasured by you and your loved ones for years to come.
Commissioning an artist to create something just for you it’s such an exciting adventure - but it can also feel a bit like a leap into the unknown. That’s why right at the outset I’ll explain how we’re going to work together and you can ask any questions you like at any point. There’s no such thing as a silly question!
We’ll begin the process with an initial consultation on the phone or in a video call to chat about your wedding plans, the kind of stationery you’re looking for, and timelines. It’ll also be a chance to get to know each other, and how we’ll work together. This will be one of many conversations we’ll have as I’ll keep you updated throughout the process. Your project is very special to me, and I want you to feel assured that it’s made with love and care. After the initial consultation you’ll receive a project proposal and timeline. To begin our collaboration, the next step is to confirm the proposal and make a deposit.
With your wedding in mind, we’ll gather imagery, colour palettes, themes, and fonts for your stationery and bring them together in a moodboard. It’s great to have your involvement as much as possible at this stage to best understand what you’re looking for. I’ll then visualise your stationery as detailed pencil sketches, artfully carrying the themes through each piece. Once you’re completely happy with the proposed sketches, I’ll proceed with painting in watercolour, before pairing the original paintings with lettering. During the process you’ll be sent digital images of each piece for you to review. Your feedback is important, and I’m generous with time and creativity to make sure your thoughts are heard and you love the final product. The timeline from the initial consultation to pencil sketch is approximately 3 - 4 weeks, and from approved sketch to painted layout around 4 weeks. Approval and printing can take an additional 4 weeks, bringing the total timeline to 3 months. This is a conservative estimate and every project will vary depending on your requirements.
Each piece will be printed by an expert print studio, using fine quality papers and inks. As part of the initial quote, I’ll specify print costs according to the volume and type of stationery required. Printing costs are separate from the design fee, as the volumes can vary at the time of printing. For example, you may need more pages inside the order of service than you originally expected. Finally, your stationery is meticulously checked to ensure that each piece is printed to perfection, before being carefully packaged and sent to you.

"Michelle's work added a truly unique dimension to our wedding. Her interpretation of our home, where we celebrated our special day with family and friends really helped bring it all to life. Everyone loved our invitations and her beautiful illustrations are just as much a part of the memories of the event as the real life photographs themselves. We even have a copy to frame and hang on our wall to enjoy for years to come. We would recommend her personal approach, care and attention to detail to anyone who wants to make their day really special" - Alyssa Bonic
