A wedding is a celebration of a unique love story. I believe that the invitation is the introduction to the celebrations, the first glimpse that guests will have of your event.

I work together with you to create completely bespoke wedding stationery, reflecting your own style and personality. I take time to get to know your story, wedding plans, theme and colours. With a palette of fresh, joyful watercolours I paint these special details, and bring them together with elegant design and fine quality printing.

Each project is approached with love and care, and a passion for creativity. One of my favourite things is working together with couples at this special time in their lives. My aim is to create a beautiful keepsake of an unforgettable day, that will be treasured by you and your loved ones for years to come.

The story behind a design

Bespoke wedding stationery design begins with a dream, an inspiration. At the start of a bespoke stationery project, I'll ask a couple to send examples of images they've seen and liked. It helps to understand the direction they'd like to take, and I find it's helpful to begin talking with visuals from the very start.

From here we'll create a shared mood board on Pinterest, and together we'll gather images reflecting the location, colours, flowers or season of the event. There may be a touch of tradition, romance, simplicity or whimsey in the chosen images, themes which help describe the personality of the couple. Within this collection of images, something will catch the eye and the vision will emerge.

An edit of images, fonts and colours are selected, to describe the vision for the stationery. With this inspiration, pencil sketching begins. Compositions are made for each of the pieces, artfully carrying the theme throughout the entire suite. It's a collaborative process, and when we begin to see the designs take shape, may decide that one aspect needs more focus, or less.

Once design sketches are in place and approved, the illustration elements are painted in watercolour. They are then photographed, added to the design layout and paired with fonts. With a careful arrangement of typography and paintings, the designs are completed and sent for printing.

To ensure the best possible envelopes and ribbon colours for the stationery, they are selected once the prints arrive at the Roxwell Press studio. With envelopes assembled and silk ribbons tied, every detail on the stationery is checked, packaged and sent with love to the happy couple.

"Michelle's work added a truly unique dimension to our wedding. Her interpretation of our home, where we celebrated our special day with family and friends really helped bring it all to life. Everyone loved our invitations and her beautiful illustrations are just as much a part of the memories of the event as the real life photographs themselves. We even have a copy to frame and hang on our wall to enjoy for years to come. We would recommend her personal approach, care and attention to detail to anyone who wants to make their day really special" - Alyssa Bonic

"Michelle designed invites, save the date, name cards and orders of service for our wedding. They all looked amazing, we were so happy with the end result. Her design really set the tone for our day - so many people commented on how lovely it all looked.  Michelle couldn’t have been more helpful and turned everything around quickly – a joy to work with" - James Watson
