Join me for a watercolour workshop, and explore your creativity.
Painting is a relaxing way to switch off from your normal routine, and think about things in a different way. Spending a few hours focusing on shape, colour and composition, is a great way to be in the moment.
You’ll learn simple techniques that have been used by artists for centuries, and make some lovely paintings, whatever talent you think you don’t have.
New workshops are added regularly, including free drop-in events. If you’d like to be notified when new workshops are available, please fill in the contact form at the bottom of the page.
This workshop will give you a basic understanding of how to paint with watercolours. You’ll learn how to work with pigments, and create a palette of beautiful, harmonious colours. We’ll go through some watercolour techniques and practice them with a simple geometric painting. Once comfortable with your brush, you'll be shown how to make expressive marks to create leaves and flowers. The workshop is about capturing the feeling of flowers, rather than details, and enjoying the effects of watercolour to make colourful, expressive paintings.

This workshop is suitable for those who've taken the beginners workshop, or have previous painting experience. You'll be shown how to use tone and hues to create balance in your colour combinations, and capture the shape of berries and leaves using gestural brush marks. After practicing, you'll learn how to combine the botanicals into a festive wreath painting.
You'll also be given advice on how to create professional quality Christmas cards, using your own painting.

This workshop will give you a basic understanding of how to paint with watercolours. You’ll be shown how to work with pigments, and create a palette of beautiful, harmonious colours. From there, you'll learn easy watercolour techniques and practice them with simple geometric paintings, and then to bauble shapes. You'll be shown how to create decorative marks with your brush, and how to gild them with gold leaf, paints and inks. The watercolour shapes and gilded decorations are then combined in colourful gold bauble paintings, that you can use to make Christmas cards.

Michelle is a patient and very knowledgeable teacher and I found her so encouraging and generous with her praise and guidance. She creates a warm and relaxing environment and the time flew by as we concentrated on colour mixing and learning the wonderful ways of watercolours. Made me want to go home and practice what I'd learned.

Michelle was a lovely teacher and the class was an excellent introduction to water colour painting. The pace was perfect for beginners and the activities were fun and engaging. I'd thoroughly recommend this class to anyone with an artistic interest.

Bought this for me and my mum for a new years prezzie. Absolutely wonderful and Michelle is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to get on with. Felt so relaxed and learnt so much. My mum enjoyed herself and it really ignited her passion for watercolour.
